Meet
Lucan Bartlett, our recently promoted Associate. Lucan’s journey to success in the field of accounting is nothing short of inspiring. Despite not studying accounting in school, Lucan's determination and passion for learning led him to complete an apprenticeship in monumental masonry before embarking on a new career path in his mid-20s.
It was during the birth of his second child that Lucan decided to reassess his career choices. After taking an online career survey, he discovered his interest in accounting and audit. This newfound passion led him to enrol at Massey University, where he pursued a Bachelor of Business Studies with a Major in accounting.
Shortly after enrolling, Lucan landed a role at Silks Chartered Accountants, a prestigious accounting and audit firm. While he initially expected to focus on accounting, he was offered an audit-focused role instead. Undeterred, Lucan embraced the opportunity and quickly progressed to the position of audit manager.
However, Lucan found himself at a crossroads at Silks, yearning for a director role that would allow him to focus on business advisory, accounting, and taxation. In 2021, he made the bold decision to join Moore Markhams, where he has been able to make a greater impact and be more involved in decision-making processes.
