Tax statistics 2014

Figures released by the Treasury show that high income earners are paying a higher percentage of the income tax take than ever before.  Six percent of earners in New Zealand earn over $100,000, and in the 12 months ending March 2013, accounted for 37 percent of the income tax paid for the year.  This is compared to 29 percent for the previous 12 months.
