Legal and litigation expertise backed by strong business and tax advice

Sam became NZ Chairman in October 2023.

Sam joined Moore Markhams after returning from overseas in 1993. Previously Sam worked as a commercial accountant in London. Sam’s work covers valuation of businesses, Economic Disparity calculations (Section15) for relationship property division and associated litigation support work. He acts as an independent Trustee and has been appointed by the High Court to act as independent trustee or executor to assist with dispute resolution. Sam became a Partner of the firm in 2001.

Sam works closely with a number of commercial client businesses. He also consults to small/medium sized law firms on a regular basis regarding valuation of legal firms and assistance with succession planning and improvement in firm profitability.

Outside interests include reading historical biographies and fishing on the Manukau Harbour. He is married to Judith and has two sons.
