Moore Markhams: getting George’s career on track

George Nettlingham is pleased with his move to Moore Markhams Hawkes Bay. After 18 months at another firm, the accounting and commercial law graduate felt his career was stalling but now he’s enjoying client contact in the firm’s Corporate Advisory team. And his CA qualification studies are on track.

“I’m learning all the time and really enjoy being involved in the bigger picture of what we’re trying to achieve for a client. I get a better understanding of the whole process and that informs the aspects I’m working on.

“The culture is inclusive and there’s a genuine sharing of knowledge and skills. I’m supported to develop my client interaction skills which I value as being a fully qualified client advisor is my end goal.”

As a ‘newbie’, George was based in the office with a handful of others during the 2022 Red Traffic period and that allowed him to learn the firm’s systems and processes.

“It would have been hopeless trying to do this working from home, so I appreciate the thought that went into making that happen for me.”
