The Moore Markhams group has been strengthened with a new Christchurch member firm joining our national business advisory and audit network.
Moore Walker Davey Searells is the latest firm to join Moore Markhams New Zealand.
The mid-tier Christchurch firm has a long-standing record of serving the Canterbury community – in its 10th decade - and has a solid reputation of meeting the needs of some of the region’s oldest businesses and many of the newest.
The strong team of over 30 staff focuses largely on SMEs providing tax and business advice but also on specialist services such as business acquisition and sale, debt management and financing. There is also a strength in cloud-based accounting software applications.
“As business owners we are facing more and more regulatory demands with higher standards of compliance expected. To be able to share more openly and collegially with peers in New Zealand to deal with these issues is encouraging,” says David Hackston, a Christchurch director.
“We’re also keen to share the expertise and technical abilities offered through the network with our clients. Having those different skill sets is going to provide a tangible benefit.”
For Moore Walker Davey Searells the move to Moore is another step in the Christchurch firm’s growth plans. The 2011 6.2 magnitude earthquake that devasted large parts of the city, and the CBD in particular, saw the then Walker Davey displaced to an outer suburb.
“We’ve been on a growth path back,” says David. “We merged with Searells, moved back to the city, grew our team, and now by joining the Moore network, we’re poised to grow our breadth and quality of service for current and future clients.”
