Ben Brinkerhoff – Head of Advice, Consilium Ben has over 20 years of experience in financial services and has been with Consilium since the business was founded. He sits on the Consilium Investment Committee and works with advisory firms across New Zealand to develop strong, goals-based advice for their clients. Ben is a published author – his book A Little Book of Financial Wisdom was written during the COVID-19 crisis – and he speaks regularly at industry events and conferences. His background includes senior roles in the United States, including Chief Operations Officer at Index Funds Advisers LLC, and he holds a BA in History and Economics from the University of California.
Michelle Chen – Director, Moore Markhams New Zealand Financial Services Limited Michelle brings over 19 years of accounting experience and more than eight years in wealth management. She is a Chartered Accountant and Financial Adviser who specialises in cross-border tax, overseas pension transfers, and international financial planning. Michelle works closely with new immigrants, returning Kiwis, international families, and globally mobile professionals. She graduated from Massey University with a degree in Finance and Economics, is fluent in Mandarin, and has particular expertise supporting Chinese families and investors with connections to New Zealand.
Marc Nel – Director, Moore Markhams New Zealand Financial Services Limited Originally from South Africa, Marc is an audit partner and financial adviser who works with clients on tax and investment strategies across borders. He helps people navigate offshore reporting requirements and provides financial planning focused on lifestyle goals and long-term wealth. Marc supports both sole operators and larger organisations, and is known for his practical, detail-focused thinking that identifies opportunities for clients.
