Bio

Audit and assurance support for organisations that need clarity, confidence, and trust in complex governance and compliance environments.

My work centres on audit and assurance for organisations across Napier and the wider Hawke’s Bay region, including commercial entities, schools, charities, and not‑for‑profit organisations. Clients rely on me when governance, accountability, and transparency matter to multiple stakeholders. The focus is always clear reporting, fair processes, and audit outcomes that can be relied on with confidence.

My background combines formal education in Accounting, Commerce, and Finance with audit experience across a broad mix of organisational structures. This includes commercial businesses, education providers, incorporated societies, charities, and community‑based organisations. Working across these sectors has built a strong understanding of governance frameworks, regulatory obligations, and the practical realities organisations face when operating with public, member, or donor accountability.

Across my audit work, professional scepticism plays an essential role. It underpins the credibility of the audit opinion and supports informed decision‑making for boards, management teams, and stakeholders. Clients value clear explanations of what matters, why it matters, and how issues can be addressed before they become problems. Strong systems, sound controls, and predictable processes reduce risk and build long‑term resilience.

I see audit as a partnership built on fairness, honesty, and clear communication. From the outset, I am open about processes, expectations, timelines, and requirements so there are no surprises along the way. A calm, direct approach helps clients understand complex issues without unnecessary technical language. Preventing problems is always better than responding to them, and strengthening systems over time is a core part of how I support clients.

Outside work, I am deeply family‑oriented and actively involved in church and community mentoring, particularly with young people and families. Respectful relationships and shared values shape both my professional and personal life.

As a registered Qualified Auditor and OAG (Office of the Auditor-General) Approved Auditor, I find it rewarding to work with organisations across a diverse range of industries.

I also serve as a trustee and treasurer for some charitable entities and the local school.
