Growing up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and now, living in Tāmaki Makaurau, New Zealand, Aqmar has always been a city girl. She graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Accounting and Commercial Law.
She embarked on her audit journey 6 years ago with a Big 4 firm which have exposed her to progressive responsibility in leading and managing both complex and simple audit engagements across various sectors including financial services, manufacturing, construction and technology. Equipped with strong technical comprehension of regulatory frameworks such as IFRS, PBE IFRS and FMCA, Aqmar is committed to deliver quality assurance services to all her clients.
She excels at fostering client relationships and empowering talents around her. She is also passionate about driving continuous improvements to gain audit efficiencies and contribute positively to her team members’ professional growth.
Outside of work, Aqmar enjoys playing various sports such as netball and badminton. During winter, Aqmar takes up skiing and she aims to ski down all available terrains down in South Island.
