Mike Flower  CA (PP), B.Compt  mike.flower@markhams.co.nz

Mike joined the firm in January 2001 having recently emigrated from Zimbabwe.  After several years of conversion studies, and then passing the Institute's PCE1 and PCE2 exams, Mike was appointment as a director of the firm.

Specialist areas:

  • Mike's work involves mainly tax planning and consulting, and business advisory services, across a wide range of clients from non-profit organisations to farmers, although most of his work relates to the dairy, sheep and beef industry.

Vision for the firm in five years:

  • To see the successful implementation of practice management software, in particular the workflow and practice enquiry system currently being set up, to provide timely, convenient and automated management information.
  • To increase the amount of value added work, in particular in the business advisory capacity.
  • To increase the commercial client base.
Mike has two daughters, one a teenager and the other a pre-teen. He plays social hockey but follows most sports, and is a keen gardener. Mike is an occasional hockey umpire for kids' games. He is also on the committee of the local branch of the NZICA.
