Horticulture

Horticulture contributes an impressive amount to New Zealand’s GDP. It’s a contribution that sees us gain international acclaim for our fresh kiwifruit, apples and pears. In 2007, New Zealand had over 66,000 hectares planted in outdoor fruit crops.  The largest crops were:

 Grapes  29,616 ha
 Kiwifruit  13,250 ha
 Apples  9,247 ha

Markhams has specialist expertise in horticulture, where it counts, in our regional offices. We understand the delicate nature of the growing season and the fickle impact of weather.  Our practical advice ensures you can maximise your returns and make the most of every crop – whether it’s going off-shore or is destined for the domestic market.

Seasoned experts, Markhams act for growers, post-harvest operators and exporters.
