Local History

Markhams Christchurch has over one hundred years’ experience working with the Christchurch Business Community.

In 1911 the Chartered Accounting firm Best and Abbott was formed; during 1935 Rhodes then Son was established. These two firms combined in 1974 to become Markhams and Partners.

Markhams and Partners became a Limited Liability Company in 2001 when the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants permitted CA firms to incorporate as companies.

Markhams Christchurch Limited has continued to grow. The company now has five directors: Richard Ineson, Graeme Rhodes (the third generation of his family to lead Markhams), Paul Rickerby, Andrew Brady and Belinda Canton.
