Sam joined Markhams Auckland after returning from overseas in 1993. Previously Sam worked as a commercial accountant in London. Sam's work covers business and accounting planning and consultancy services. Sam became a principal of the firm in 2001. Sam works closely with a number of client businesses, particularly in the legal sector, working closely with Barristers and Solicitors assisting with analysis of legal practice key performance indicators, amalgamation, valuation and the admission/retirement of partners. His outside interests include an active participation in the political process. Sam is treasurer of Auckland Now Inc. and has organised several political campaigns. He is also secretary/treasurer of the Rangitoto Beef Steak and Burgundy Club Inc, a wine appreciation club that meets monthly.
Sam is married to Judith, an Auckland Barrister and they have two young sons, Harry and Edward.
